Siberia
As the vast evergreen forests of Russia's Siberian taiga extend southward toward Mongolia, the ground rises and the terrain becomes more varied. The border between Siberian Russia and Mongolia is a natural divide here, with rugged hills and mountains forming series of wrinkles between the sprawling Russian forests to the north and rolling grasslands to the south.

Siberia
Siberia (Russian: Сибирь, Sibir) is the Asian part of Russia: a vast region covering an area of 13,100,000 square kilometers (about 24 times the size of France) is sparsely populated (39 million people or about 3 per km ²). Located in eastern Russia, it stretches from the Urals in the west to the Pacific Ocean and the Arctic Ocean north to the Altai Mountainsto the north border of Kazakhstan
and Mongolia and Chinese. Siberia is the Asian part of Russia and northern Asia. This region, which represents 77% of the area of Russia, but only 27% of its population, is characterized by an extremely cold climate and continental and moderate relief landscape criss-crossed by huge rivers. Long inhabited by pastoralists, has been gradually colonized by the Russian Empire. Siberia has experienced a tremendous development during the twentieth century through a proactive investment policy of the Soviet regime sought to highlight the enormous mineral and energy resources of this region.
